bradford County is the largest of the four counties of the Endless Mountains region of Pennsylvania and is rich in history.
the area is also rich in native American history. Exhibits of native American lore can be found at the bradford County Museum, in Towanda, and the Tioga Point Museum, in Athens.
bradford County also has a strong history with the railroad as can be seen at the Valley Railroad Museum. there is also history of French Azilum, connecting the area with the French Royalty. Being a rural county, with only 3% of the population classified as urban, farming is important to bradford County, as can be seen at the Farm Museum in troy.
In 1837, composer Stephen Foster and his brother, William, lived in Towanda. What was William's occupation? (Chief Engineer of Public Works, Canals & Railroads, working on the construction of the North branch Canal)
